Troop 1627 was a female Scouts BSA troop founded on March 27, 2019 as a linked troop with Troop 627. Our first Eagle rank was awarded in February 2021. We have crossed-over scouts from a several local Cub Scout packs. We also have a number of scouts who joined Scouts BSA directly.
We are proud to be trailblazers, as one of the first female troops founded in Central Illinois. Our group formed in August 2018 as one of the first female Arrow of Light dens. Celeste S. was the first female Eagle Scout in the W.D. Boyce council and became the first female Wenasa Quenhotan Lodge #23 Chapter Chief in February 2021. Our second Eagle, Olivia T. was the first female member of the lodge to serve as a ceremonialist for the pre-Ordeal, Ordeal and Brotherhood ceremonies in October 2021. Mia A., a founding member of Troop 1627, began her Scouting journey in Pack 147 in 2018, and became the first Cub Scout from our community to later earn the Eagle Scout rank.
Troop 1627 took part in the combined troop pilot program in 2024-2025, and at the end of 2025 rechartered as a family troop with Troop 627.
